WW2 Luftwaffe Pilot/Aircrew single zip flying boots. A good original pair of Luftwaffe flying boots, of mid-war construction. As used and worn by Luftwaffe pilots and aircrew.
This pair has definitely seen some use but are still in good condition without any major damage or condition issues. The leather of the boots is well worn, with marks and abrasions, but no holes, rips, tears or leather rot. The very upper sections of the boots are made out of a suede-type leather, or possibly just untreated sheepskin. These sections are not made from the same strong leather as the rest of the boot, and can be susceptible to damage. Both sections on either boot are, however, damage-free, albeit with some staining from use over the years.
Both zips are in working condition, albeit a bit stiff; the zip on the left boot looks to have been replaced at some point. Again, it is still in good working order. Both boots are still retaining the small flap and press stud over the zip closure. And again, both boots are retaining both of their adjustment straps. The buckles on these straps have some oxidation, but again, they are in good working order. To the bottom of the boots, the one-piece soles show a good amount of wear, but are original to the boots. Finally, moving inside, we see the sheepskin lining, still intact with minor shedding. Size-wise, they are not marked, but look to be around a size 9.
A good displayable pair of these Luftwaffe flying boots. Ideal for any collection, display, or reenactor.
