WW2 LUFTWAFFE RZ12H "RÜCKENFALLSCHIRM" BACK PARACHUTE HARNESS ASSEMBLY. Lovely complete Luftwaffe back-type parachute harness assembly, used by bomber crews and fighter pilots.
The assembly is in overall nice condition; the harness is very clean without any damage or fraying to the straps/ to the front. The quick-release buckle is in excellent working condition, fully marked to the front with instructions in German and manufacturer details to the reverse. To the side is one large green flap which holds the parachute ripcord, all in good condition. Some light oxidization to the pull handle.
To the back of the assembly is the parachute pack/tray. It consists of an aluminium tray that holds the canopy and lines, still retaining most of its original green paint and rectangular back pad. The pack has 4 green flaps that fold up and keep the canopy in place. Still fitted with original bungee cords as well.
Inside the pack we find the original parachute canopy and rigging lines still packed. Very rare to find Luftwaffe parachute equipment, but very rare to find it still with the original canopy. The canopy appears to be in excellent condition and is made from a silk-like material. Still with ink markings as shown in the photos.
Overall, a very rare Luftwaffe parachute assembly, extremely rare to find. Ideal for completing your Luftwaffe bomber crew display, museum, collection, or reenactor use.
