WW2 RAF MKVII FLYING GOGGLES. An honest, well-used pair of these classic wartime MKVII flying goggles. Also used and worn by USAAF pilots during WW2.
A lovely pair of goggles fitted with clear lenses. The goggles themselves show some wear, with some paint rubbing and losses to the frames. The leather face pad is in good condition too, showing some wear and soiling from use. The leather nose section is again in good condition without issues.
Strangely, this pair are not stamped with the usual markings you see on these goggles. They normally have the store's reference number 22C/826, and an A.M. crown on the middle plate that holds the sunscreen. We do not know why this is, and this is the first time we've ever had a pair without the markings! The middle plate itself looks to be original, with the same matching paint and period wear and tear. Regardless, we are happy to say they are still original goggles; what else could they be? And they do display very well with a C-type helmet and mask.
The head strap is again clean with no damage, still retaining some elasticity. The goggles are fitted with their original clear laminated lenses.
Overall, a very good, used set of these iconic RAF MKVII flying goggles. Overall, perfect for any RAF museum, collection, reenactor, or display.
